A brief history of EST

EST was founded in 1990 in Zaventem, and started life as a removals firm. Back then we had 4 members of staff, 2 lorries and a 700 m² warehouse. However, following sustained company growth, by 1998 we had become a key furniture assembly and delivery partner for the IKEA chain.

After several expansions and moves to larger warehouse premises (and after the acquisition of M&T), by 2005 EST occupied a warehousing space ten times larger than its initial premises. The turnover at the Vilvoorde site had then reached €6.7m.

Using WinRoute to completely automate the transport planning system, from 2006 the whole company underwent a rapid expansion and upgrade process.

The warehousing space in Vilvoorde has recently doubled once again, the vehicle fleet has been considerably expanded and the workforce now stands at 130 staff. With an annual turnover of €10.4m, EST is now the market leader in its segment.
